Fan
Interested in a Westinghouse fan?
The Westinghouse brand is responsible for producing a wide
variety of products, they are particularly known for their
lighting fixtures, but they also have a nice line of ceiling
fans.
Westinghouse is a trusted name in the
industry as they have been around for over 120 years, they
guarantee the construction of their fans and offer limited
as well as lifetime warranties on them.
Now before you go out and get just any old
Westinghouse fan, it’s important to know what kind of fan
you should get based on the room you’re looking to put it
in. Generally, here’s the guide you’re going to be
following:
1. Rooms that are 8’x10’ – Get a
ceiling fan that is 30” to 42”
2. Rooms that are 12’x12’ – Get a 42” to 48” ceiling
fan
3. Rooms that are 18’x20’, or more – Get a 50” or larger
fan
Now most of the time you’ll be somewhere
in the middle, but it is important to measure your rooms
just to make sure you’re getting the right sized fan.
The last thing you want is to buy a fan, install it then
find out after the fact that it is too small or too
large.
Now as far as what Westinghouse fan you
should get, here’s a quick look at some of the better fans
out there for you to choose from:
Westinghouse 7813665 Comet One
Light 52 Inch 5 Blade Ceiling Fan
Here’s a brushed pewter Westinghouse fan
with an opal globe light fixture in the center of it.
The base is chrome and the blades are an off white kind of
color while the light fixture is white. It’s hard to
describe except to say that it has a contemporary
design. This fan is compatible with a dimmer and when
installed with light wood color blades, this really looks
fantastic.
Even if you don’t do that, it looks great,
although it can hum and vibrate a bit when in “flush mode”
which would be the only gripe. This will cost you
about $75.
Westinghouse 7861500 Contempra
Trio 3 Light 42 Inch 5 Blade Ceiling Fan
Complete with 3 frosted white bell shaped
light fixtures, mounted underneath a nickel base with 5 deep
cherry wooden fan blades, this fan oozes style. It’s a
unique look which will defiantly attract
attention.
One thing to note about this Westinghouse
fan is that this thing does not take standard light bulbs,
but rather candelabra sized bulbs, so don’t purchase this if
that is an issue for you, the fans do not come with standard
bulbs. One thing about it though is it is a bit noisy,
it hums, but again, this is a beauty and at only $50 or so,
it’s a steal.
