Flush Mount Ceiling Fan

Interested in a flush mount ceiling fan?  Just as a reminder, a flush mount ceiling fan is every bit the same as a regular ceiling fan with the exception that it’s closer to the ceiling.  Most fans are suspended by a thin cylinder from the ceiling, this element is gone in the flush mount ceiling fan so that the unit doesn’t wind up dangling too low to the ground.

A flush mount ceiling fan is quite useful if you want to install the fan in a room which has a low clearance and you don’t want to wind up hitting your head on the fan or have it uncomfortably close to your head.  If you have 9 foot ceilings you’re not going to have to worry about this, but 8 foot or less, you might want  to consider this.

There are of course those who just prefer the look of a fan that is sleek and up against the wall than to one that dangles and that Is ok too.

Now as far as what the best ones out there are, that’s something you’re going to have to take a bit of time to figure out, the last thing you want is to spend $200-300 on a fan that breaks down on you, is noisy or just doesn’t do a good job circulating the air.  So here is a look at a great ceiling fan you may want to consider picking up:

Now here’s a real gorgeous flush mount ceiling fan.  It has a nickel color to it which makes it look retro/trendy/stylish.  In fact, it looks so good that I’d be surprised if you didn’t get any compliments after installing it (that is of course if you make sure it fits with the rest of the décor in your room).  Now, as good as this is, there is only one issue I found with it and that is that it smells.  It has a smell of a magic marker or something.

After looking on the net, this is something that other customers have noticed and apparently it has to do with the production.  You see, they use some sort of chemical dip or some such thing that coats the fan motor and then takes a while to “burn off”.  So for the first little bit you will need to get used to that faint smell.

After a couple of weeks though the smell should be just about gone so this isn’t really a big issue, it’s only something temporary.  Overall, though this is one flush mount ceiling fan that should be at the top of your list.
